Located in a historic art-deco skyscraper in downtown Chicago, this hotel called for a glamorous lighting design. First, guests experience the modern lobby, where paintings are highlighted with adjustable LED accents and a bronze glass wall is showcased by a backlit glow of light hidden discreetly behind it. Integrated LED lighting creates a gentle halo effect on the warm wood walls. The historic coffered ceiling of the connecting stair presented a challenge, but we ultimately found a grand linear vintage chandler that fit elegantly in the space. In the lounge, adjustable LEDs accentuate the beautiful stone fireplace wall and wood shelving. Low level decorative fixtures allow for reading and relaxation, while wall washes give a gallery effect to the surrounding art. Lastly, all guest suites feature modern decorative pendants and floor lamps, while recessed LEDs accent the walls, balancing out the upscale atmosphere.
