Gwen Grossman LC, IALD, IES
CEO & Principal

Boasting 30 years of experience in the lighting field, Gwen Grossman brings creativity and collaboration to the forefront of her work. Combining artistry with deep technical knowledge, she uses light as her paintbrush to highlight and enhance the architecture of every space. A passionate and motivated businesswoman with a finger on the pulse of modern design, she always puts her clients’ needs first. Gwen has won numerous awards and has been featured in publications like LD&A, Architect Magazine, and Great Lakes by Design. She is the proud Founding Principal of GGLD, a certified Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE).

Diana Ades LC, IES
Associate Principal
Diana Ades has worked in the lighting industry for more than 30 years across multiple disciplines, including architecture, theater, and art. Her approach to lighting strikes a delicate balance between function and form, improving a space while heightening its inhabitants’ experiences. She served as Vice President of the IES Richmond Section for many years, has received multiple local and national awards for her work, and has had projects featured in publications such as Architectural Record, VM+SD, Hospitality Design, and The New York Times.
Alexandria Quella
Senior Lighting Designer
During her career as a lighting designer, Alexandria has acquired a broad range of project experience, including higher education facilities, building façades, and healthcare and hospitality spaces. Alexandria’s education strengthened her innate understanding of how interior spaces psychologically impact human behavior. Now, she uses her passion for lighting to carefully enhance interior and exterior environments with an innovative and sustainable approach. Alexandria is passionate about bringing the lighting design community together and serves as the Midwest Chapter Coordinator of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD). She has also received multiple IES Illumination Awards of Merit.
Karina Lysenko
Lighting Designer
After moving from Ukraine at a young age, Karina Lysenko spent her childhood fascinated by arts, crafts, and design. After receiving a BFA in Interior Design, she worked for several years as a designer in interior design firms. During this time, she learned that lighting can make or break the aesthetic of a space. Prior to joining GGLD, Karina simultaneously managed projects for high-end residential firms and participated in large-scale commercial projects, all while exploring the world of lighting design and application. To this day, she maintains a passion for artistry and built environments.
David Arterberry
Lighting Designer
David Arterberry is an architectural lighting designer with over 10 years of experience in the field, including projects in hospitality, retail, and commercial spaces. After earning his Bachelor's Degree in production design with a focus in lighting design, he went on to receive his MFA in lighting design at Carnegie Mellon University. David has been involved in many unique facets of the lighting industry, including working on architectural lighting design for Carnival Cruise Lines. He especially enjoys the opportunity this work gives him to see the world.
