Our design for this meditation center in Lisle, Illinois shines like a work of art. The exterior of the building was carefully lit, with in-ground uplighting onto each of the building’s architectural fins. This precise, warm luminance brings out the rich gold of the metal. Inside, we designed illumination for the large multi-purpose room, as well as the 1,800 seat main hall and the silent meditation room. In the main hall, highly flexible lighting matches the convertibility of the space. Linear fixtures provide general lighting, while beautiful cove accents line the room, punctuated by a series of intimate downlights. The silent meditation room is the true gem of the facility, with a deceptively simple design. Upon entering, focus is immediately drawn to the cove in the center of the room, while the deep, warm tones of the lighting simultaneously create drama and promote relaxation.
